GG4 originated from an accidental cross when Chem's Sister pollinated Sour Dubb and Chocolate Diesel plants in Joesy Whales' garden. The resulting plants were so resinous they gummed up scissors and trimming tools — earning the Gorilla Glue name. Formally introduced around 2013, it rapidly became one of the most awarded and widely cloned varieties in the US market.
